Compiègne became an imperial city thanks to its castle which housed Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie. The location of this city north of Paris in the Oise and its large wooded spaces makes it an ideal playground for mountain bikers, hikers and hunters. The Compiègne National Forest and the Aigle Forest also house the Armistice Wagon in Rethondes. The wooden posts scattered throughout the forest were wanted by the Empress to guide Napoleon during his outings. The original two-color illustration created by Posters in Babôrd highlights the Beaumonts gap which extends for more than 4 kilometers and offers an incredible perspective on the castle.
